Three bedroom townhouse for sale in East Mount Airy for $325,000

Shenika McCloud has fond memories of growing up in the East Mount Airy townhouse her parents, Meloney and Wayne Clarke, bought in 1994.

“There was a playground nearby, and if I wanted to get away from my brothers, I could go downstairs. It was just a fun time,” says McCloud, who now lives five minutes away by car.

“It was a nice place to raise a family,” says Wayne Clarke, a Jamaican native who came to the United States at age 19 and lived in East Falls.

But Meloney Clarke died 12 years ago, and now her husband, who worked as an assembler at a refrigeration plant and now drives with Uber, is looking to move to a smaller place in the area.

The three-bedroom, 1½-bath home has an open floor plan on the first floor, with an inset glass front door leading to the entry hall.

The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and a dining area on one side of the counter, seating four people.

The side door from the dining room provides easy access to the outdoor terrace for the summer kitchen.

The second floor has three large bedrooms and a bathroom with ceramic tiles.

There are wood floors on the first floor and carpeting on the second.

The finished basement includes a laundry room, a powder room, a mechanical room and access to the attached garage for one car.

McCloud adds that the neighborhood, which had few children in its early years, has become much more diverse lately.

The total area of the house is 1,536.

The home is listed by Marie Pogue of Keller Williams Main Line for $325,000.
