RASUWA: Candidates from Rasuwa District expressed their commitment to fully comply with the electoral code of conduct applied by the Electoral Commission for the upcoming elections of members of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly.
At an all-party meeting held at the Rasuwa District Administration Office on Wednesday, candidates from political parties including the Nepalese Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (UML), Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepalese Majdur Kisan Party, Mangol National Organization and Rastriya Swatantra Party as well as independent candidates have signed up.
Also present on the occasion were Returning Officer Ramchandra Poudel, District Director Nawaraj Jaisi, heads of security agencies and District Returning Officer Shreeram Thapa.
On behalf of the political parties, their district leaders, Nepali Congress candidate for HoR member Mohan Acharya, Maoist candidates for provincial assembly Indra Prasad Gautam, Congress candidate for provincial assembly Prabhat Lama and provincial candidate of the RPP Hari Prasad Ghimire, among others, had made a commitment to respect the electoral code of conduct.
During the multi-stakeholder meeting, various documents produced by the EC on the code of conduct such as the size of the flag, the period of publicity, the use of polite language and the process to be adopted when disseminating information by through the media were presented.
According to the electoral office, there are 39,459 voters in the district in the upcoming elections. Taking election security into consideration, the Rasuwa District Police Bureau provided training to the temporary police.
