Rosemarie H. McGuire | Republican-American
FARMINGTON – Mrs. Rosemarie H. McGuire, 83, of Farmington, formerly of Waterbury, died peacefully on April 8, 2022, in the comfort of the home of her daughter Kathleen, surrounded by the praying love of her family after a long illness. Kathleen took great care of her mom until the very end of her earthly journey. She was the widow of Mr. Robert McGuire.
Rosemarie was born March 19, 1939 in Meriden, daughter of the late George and Rose Alma (Rodier) Bérubé. Rosemarie liked it. Her humble selflessness helped everyone who knew her realize how much they were loved. She would absolutely attribute this to the gifts that God has so richly given her.
Rosemarie was an amazing mother and grandmother, taking every opportunity to encourage and rejoice in the lives of her grandchildren. She attended every school event possible and always brought laughter and love to any event.
She also treasured her friendship with Maryanne Carasale, dating back to when they were together in second grade.
She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and spent many years working as an assembler at Timex Corp. and Airpax Manufacturing until her retirement in 1996. Rosemarie was an avid UConn Huskies basketball fan and loved crochet and ceramics.
After retirement, Rosemarie enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending her winters in Florida and her summers camping with her family in the Berkshires, where she enjoyed many memorable family moments. She also enjoyed visiting her family in Maryland.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his daughters, Michelle Steck and her husband Gary of Bristol, and Kathleen McGuire of Avon. She also leaves her brother, Robert Berube and his wife Eleanor, of New Hampshire; and his four devoted and loving grandchildren, Michael and his wife Ella, Emily, Grace and Jacob.
In addition, she leaves a great-granddaughter Sybil; and her best friend, Maryanne Carasale; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, George Berube.
Mrs. McGuire’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1987 E.
