‘Misappropriation and dilution issue’: BJP chief hits out at KTR remarks on Hindi imposition

“KTR has the audacity to talk about Prime Minister Modi, it’s very amazing and to call him jumla or hamla reeks of frustration and fear of losing in the by-elections.

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Rachana Reddy said Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao was “hijacking and diluting” the issue of Hindi language imposition, while saying the Center had provided clarification to several times in this regard.

The BJP leader’s remarks came after KTR took to Twitter to criticize the Center over the ongoing Hindi taxation line, where he shared a news article stating that the parliamentary-led group by Union Home Minister Amit Shah recommended replacing English language with Hindi in IITs and Courts. “India does NOT have a national language and Hindi is one of many official languages. To impose Hindi through mandates in IITs and central government recruitments, NDA government flouts Federal spirit Indians should have choice of language and we say no to #HindiTaxation,” KTR tweeted on Wednesday.
Reacting to KTR’s remark, Rachana Reddy said that preference should be given to native language including Hindi.

“KTR logs continue. When KTR tweeted about Hindi apparently being enforced in IITs and other technical and non-technical institutes, that is nothing but his way of completely hijacking and diluting an issue that has already been clarified at many times by the central government where he said that the preference should be given to the mother tongue including Hindi and other mother tongues of the state government,” she said.

She further criticized KTR’s “jumla or hamla” remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and said he made such statements with “the fear of losing in the by-elections”.

“KTR has the audacity to talk about Prime Minister Modi, it’s very astonishing and to call him jumla or hamla stinks of frustration and fear of losing in the by-elections. He made contemptuous rhetorical comments with absolutely no basis, evidence or even reflection,” she said.
KTR had said on Tuesday that Prime Minister Modi meant “either jumla or hamla” when talking about dual-powered governments.

Taking a jibe at the Centre, KTR alleged that the Center is using agencies like CBI and ED against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
KTR’s remarks came as he addressed the public ahead of the Munugodu Assembly by-votes.
“If someone speaks like TRS, CM KCR, the Center uses CBI, ED, IT and other agencies. Either jumla (false promise) or hamla (attack) and that is the twin drivers declared by Prime Minister Modi,” he said.

“By threatening they will try to control otherwise they will use ED and others as hounds on opponents and try to threaten them. I want to say to PM Modi and (BJP leader) Bandi Sanjay that ED can’t do anything do to us, do what you want to do,” KTR added.

He further mentioned the renaming of Telangana Rashtra Samiti to Bharat Rashtra Samiti as part of KCR’s entry into national politics, and said that it is the right of Telangana leaders to roam the country and do politics.

“We launched Bharat Rashtra Samiti to introduce it to the nation. Why can’t TRS become a Bharat Rashtra Samiti? TRS has taken care of farmers and has always worked for the welfare of farmers. Even Gujarat rulers come here and do politics and other rulers but can’t Telangana ruler cross the country? Is it only their right? he said.
