KUNA: Kuwait’s new Interior and Defense Ministers take oath during Assembly session – Parliamentary
KUWAIT, March 15 (KUNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, took the constitutional oath before the parliamentary session on Tuesday in accordance with Article 91 of the Constitution.
Article 91 of the Constitution stipulates that before taking office in the Assembly or in its committees, a member of the National Assembly takes the constitutional oath in a public session of the Assembly.
Last Wednesday, an Amiri Decree was issued appointing retired General Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence.
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah welcomed the newly formed ministers to Dar Al-Yamama on Tuesday, where they were sworn in in the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the First Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
