Karnataka assembly files censure motion against Kannada flag burning in Kolhapur, Maharashtra

Belagavi (Karnataka) [India], December 16 (ANI): A motion of censure was filed Thursday on the floor of the house during the winter session of the Belagavi assembly against the fire of the Kannada flag allegedly committed by workers of Shiv Sena in Kolhapur in Maharashtra and action has been requested from the state government.
The motion was introduced by Janata Dal (secular) MP K Annandani and supported by other MPs, including Congress Legislative Party leader Siddaramaiah.
Responding to the question raised by Annadani, Revenue Minister R Ashok said such incidents hurt Kannadigas’ feelings.
“It is our responsibility to protect the land, water and language of our state, regardless of government. Shiva Sena and Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti again and again cause problems in the border areas,” he said. declared.
“We will send the motion of censure proposed by the member of the House. Our government will speak to the government of Maharashtra and the relevant minister and ensure that such incidents do not happen again,” Ashoka said.
On Tuesday, a few people suspected of being Shiv Sena and MES workers reportedly burned a Kannada flag in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur district, pro-Kannada protesters said.
They did so in support of their request to merge Belgaum with Maharashtra. They were protesting against the government of Karnataka for their position. (ANI)
