All new and returning Exotics added to Destiny 2 in Season of the Splicer

Bungie just launched Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer on Tuesday, which means the game has just been infused with a host of new exotic weapons and armor.

Season of the Splicer already has a new Exotic weapon available to players and three new Exotic pieces of armor. But it looks like Bungie might have some surprises in store as well. Here are all the Exotics we know are coming to Season of the Splicer.

[Note: There are some light gear spoilers in this post, as we look into some evidence both in and outside of Destiny 2 that suggest other, unconfirmed Exotics are coming this season.]

Cryosthesia 77K – Stasis Handgun

Cryosthesia 77K is the new Season of the Splicer Season Pass weapon. Players who own the Season Pass can claim it immediately, while free players will need to reach level 35 to unlock it.

Cryosthesia 77K has two exotic benefits. The first is LN2 Burst, which offers a variable trigger for the weapon. Players can pull the trigger to fire shots like a normal handgun. But Guardians can also hold the trigger to fire a charged Stasis shot at enemies, freezing them immediately. Charged Shot is only available when the second Exotic Perk, Liquid Cooling, is active.

Liquid cooling activates once players receive a killing blow with the weapon’s default fire mode. Liquid cooling allows players to fire the charged Stasis shot, which spends the rest of the weapon’s magazine.

This is the player’s first Stasis energy weapon – when Bungie added Stasis in Beyond Light, the Salvation’s Grip Heavy Grenade Launcher is the only Stasis weapon players have. While being a Stasis weapon is quite interesting in its own rite, the Cryosthesia 77K also goes into the Kinetic slot, usually reserved for weapons without elemental affinities.

Star-Eater Scales – Hunter Legs

Star-Eater scales are from the Lost Sectors of Master or Legend, similar to Season of the Chosen. Each day there is a Master or Legend Lost Sector, which offers a different Exotic armor slot as a reward if you complete it solo. Wait for leg day and complete the Lost Sector until it drops.

Star-Eater scales have the Exotic Feast of Light advantage. This perk allows Hunters to gain additional Super Energy when collecting Power Orbs. Picking up power orbs with a full Super will overload the hunter, healing them when they cast their super and increasing their super damage. When at maximum overload, hunters will also get a higher shield.

The path of the fiery steps – titan legs

The Burning Stages path originates from the Lost Sectors of Master or Legend, similar to Season of the Chosen. Each day there is a Master or Legend Lost Sector, which offers a different Exotic armor slot as a reward if you complete it solo. Wait for leg day and complete the Lost Sector until it drops.

The Burning Stages Path comes with the Firewalker perk. Firewalker causes solar attacks that gradually increase weapon damage. The Titan are also harder to slow or freeze with Stasis, and they don’t take damage when coming out of a frozen state. Exiting Stasis also causes a solar explosion around the Titan.

Assembler’s Boots – Warlock Legs

Assembler’s Boots are from the Lost Sectors of Master or Legend, similar to Season of the Chosen. Each day there is a Master or Legend Lost Sector, which offers a different Exotic armor slot as a reward if you complete it solo. Wait for leg day and complete the Lost Sector until it drops.

Assembler’s Boots have the Blessing of Order perk. This perk gives Warlocks a bonus while in a healing rift. While the Blessing of Order is active, the Warlock will spawn noble Seekers who will pursue allies who are not in your Rift, healing them. Each ally healed by a Noble Seeker will also grant the warlock and ally a damage bonus. Whenever a Noble Seeker affects an ally, it also increases the duration of the Warlock’s Healing Rift.

Unconfirmed exotic weapons

There appear to be two unconfirmed exotics in destiny 2: Season of the splicer.

The first is an easy guess if you are a Destiny veteran. Vex Mythoclast, the Exotic Fusion Rifle that drops from Atheon at the end of Vault of Glass, is back. Players can access their in-game collection and find an ornament called The Untold Tale for the Vex Mythoclast, confirming its existence.

Because it is also in Destiny 2API’s, we can also see its updated benefits. According to the Light.gg Destiny database, Vex Mythoclast has two exotic perks in Destiny 2. The first is Timeless Mythoclast, which causes the weapon to fire a single fusion rifle bolt with each pull of the trigger. This suggests that the weapon is not fully automatic, like its original. destiny version. But the advantage of the same name in Destiny 1 used the same language, so Destiny 2Mythoclast will likely work very similar to its original version.

Second exotic benefit of Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 2 is Temporal Unlimiter. Defeating targets with Vex Mythoclast increases overload. Players can swap fire modes when fully overloaded – likely by holding down the reload button – and holding the trigger to charge linear fusion rifle shots. Linear Fusion Rifles are usually only reserved for the heavy ammo slot and kill enemies with a single headshot.

The new Vex Mythoclast also features a catalyst, which adds the benefit of calculated balance. This causes higher Overload stacks to increase the stability of Vex Mythoclast.

There is also a mysterious Exotic Scout Rifle ornament in Destiny 2Collection of. It is classified, which is quite unusual for an ornament. For example, the Vex Mythoclast ornament is unranked, even though the weapon is not yet in the collection. Chances are, this is a hidden ornament for a secret exotic. But since this is only a classified placeholder node, it also means we have no idea what this weapon could be.

While it’s possible Bungie could add another Exotic this season – increasing the number of Exotic weapons to a probable four vs. three – there’s only evidence for those mentioned here. Bungie will update its database during the season, so we should find out more about these unconfirmed exotics in a few weeks.
