101 cases of Covid Sunday in Latvia / Article
On Sunday August 22, Latvia registered 101 new cases of Covid-19 infection, according to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).
Of these, 76 were unvaccinated, or not fully vaccinated, and 25 were fully vaccinated.
The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 141,045.
Of 7,712 tests done in the past 24 hours, 1.3% were positive.
The 14-day cumulative infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants fell from 84.4 on Saturday to 85.8 on Sunday.

An additional Covid-related death has been confirmed, the victim aged 60 to 69, so the death toll since the start of the pandemic has risen to 2,569.
There are currently 79 people being treated for Covid-related symptoms in Latvian hospitals, 10 of whom have severe symptoms.
Meanwhile, in Estonia 101 new cases of Covid were also registered and in Lithuania 407 new cases were registered.
